Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has been named by Ethisphere as one of the three most ethical computer hardware companies in the world. It is the fourth year in a row that HDS has received the honour, the company announced today.
The World’s Most Ethical Companies recognises those that surpass industry standards through exceptional commitment to ethical practices and good corporate governance. Honourees are selected by the Ethisphere Institute, based on the extent to which their application of best practices is shaping the wider industry and raising standards.
“Practising high ethical business standards, implementing strong corporate governance methods, and promoting a culture of ethics are part of our mission to be responsible corporate citizens.” said David Karas, Vice President of Ethics and Business Conduct at HDS. “Being acknowledged as a leader with this award demonstrates that HDS is fulfilling this mission and is dedicated to continuing to improve current business standards within our own company, and acting as a model for those who want to pursue this same position.”
“This year’s honourees represent 22 countries spread over five continents, displaying the passion that exists today in the global business community to achieve higher levels of business ethics and integrity,” added Ethisphere Institute’s Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich. “Through exceptional business practices, continued innovation in compliance program development, strong tone from the top, and a reputation for being a leader in corporate responsibility, HDS demonstrated itself again as a leader and we are excited to recognize the company’s embrace of these values.”
