Webfilings, the market-disrupting, cloud-based provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business reporting solutions, announced that it has changed its name to Workiva following the runaway success of its Wdesk platform.
Founded in 2008, the company initially specialised in reporting solutions for companies preparing business reports for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). But the popularity of Wdesk, which it released last year to provide collaborative solutions for compliance, risk management and sustainability reporting, has shifted the company’s main focus. The name “Webfilings” no longer seems to fit.
“To keep pace with our customers’ needs and meet the growing demand for our solutions beyond SEC filings, it’s time to change our name,” said Matt Rizai, Chief Executive Officer at Workiva. “But changing our company name doesn’t change who we are. We’re the same people delivering the same world-class customer service and vision for how Wdesk can streamline work throughout the enterprise.”
In April, the company revealed that more than 2000 corporate clients, including over 60% of Fortune 500 companies, now use its Wdesk product platform. “Wdesk can dramatically improve staff productivity, reduce costs and errors, and improve turnaround,” said Melissa Webster, Program Vice President of Content and Digital Media Technologies at the International Data Corporation (IDC). “Those benefits are compounded when customers leverage Wdesk across departments for multiple use cases.”
